Maruti Suzuki, the largest car manufacturer in India, announced on Monday that its popular Grand Vitara SUV has achieved sales of 200,000 units since its launch in July 2022. The Grand Vitara reached this milestone over a period of 23 months, with the most recent 100,000 units sold in just 10 months. Notably, there is a high demand for the hybrid and S-CNG versions among buyers. The Grand Vitara stands out as one of only two vehicles in its category to offer both a strong hybrid and CNG fuel option.
Partho Banerjee, the senior executive officer of marketing and sales at Maruti Suzuki India, remarked, “The launch of the Grand Vitara has been crucial for us in the SUV segment.” He added, “The Grand Vitara has transformed its category by encouraging customers to make sustainable choices with the Strong Hybrid.”
The Grand Vitara is available at a price range of 10.99 lakh to 19.93 lakh. The strong hybrid model is priced at 18.43 lakh, while the CNG variant starts at 13.15 lakh. In addition, Maruti Suzuki has introduced the Ignis Radiance edition priced at 25.49 lakh to attract young, aspiring buyers in the market. This edition is 35,000 rupees lower than the base Sigma trim, with the top-end version priced at 8.06 lakh. The Sigma variant includes extra accessories valued at 3,650 rupees, such as wheel covers, door visors, and chrome trim. The Zeta and Alpha variants come with accessories worth 9,500 rupees, including new seat covers and cushions.
