Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, responsible for Forest and Environment, emphasized the importance of tiger conservation in safeguarding forests, enhancing greenery, and preserving ecological equilibrium. He announced that the state government will be introducing special initiatives to protect tigers and directed forest officials to draft a plan to boost the tiger population in reserves across the state.

Pawan actively participated in the International Tiger Day event held at the AP state forest department headquarters in Mangalagiri. During the event, he unveiled the ‘Global Tiger Day’ poster and toured a photo exhibition featuring tiger images taken by Bobbili MLA R.V.S.K.K. Ranga Rao and other wildlife photographers from various national parks and tiger sanctuaries. He also assessed the necessary steps to augment tiger numbers and enhance safety protocols in the state’s tiger reserves.

Highlighting the cultural significance of forests in India and embracing the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, Pawan referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s explanation of the concept at the G-20 summit. He emphasized the interconnectedness of trees, animals, and all living beings within Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, underscoring the collective responsibility to safeguard these entities and their habitats.

Pawan stressed the development of a forest corridor from Nallamala forest in Srisailam to Seshachalam biosphere to bolster forest coverage and the tiger population. He also reiterated the need for stringent measures to protect tigers in reserves, warning of severe consequences for animal poachers.

Furthermore, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan addressed a multitude of public grievances at the Jana Sena party office in Mangalagiri and his camp office in Vijayawada. Among the concerns raised, female contract staff nurses requested governmental action to regularize their employment status, enforce pay equality, appoint five staff nurses at primary healthcare centers, and facilitate insurance coverage and mutual transfers. Additionally, Krishnaveni from Bhavarajupalem in Srikakulam district sought justice for alleged encroachment of her father’s land by YSRC leaders, with Pawan assuring the petitioners of his commitment to addressing their issues through relevant departments.
