The sales of scooters in India have reached a peak since ten years ago, as both women and men find them to be the best solution for dealing with the growing traffic problem. The purchases of scooters, particularly the TVS Jupiter and Honda Activa, are on the rise. TVS Jupiter has recently released an updated version with IGO Assist, while Honda Activa is set to launch its 6G version to compete in the market.
In terms of engine performance, the newly launched Jupiter boasts a slightly updated 113 cc 4-stroke, fuel-injected engine, producing 7.9 bhp and 9.8 Nm of torque. With IGO technology, the maximum speed of this scooter is reported to be 82 km per hour. On the other hand, the Activa features a 110 cc fuel-injected engine generating 7.7 bhp of power and 8.9 Nm of torque, with a power-to-weight ratio of around 105 kg for both scooters.
When it comes to features and mileage, the Jupiter stands out with its new digital cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, empty indicator, side stand cut off, auto start-stop, and seat storage for two helmets. Additional features like LED lighting, TVS Smart Connect Navigation, Find My Scooter, Real-Time Mileage, and Voice Assist make it a compelling choice. In comparison, the Activa H-Smart variant offers features like a smart key, keyless start, and LSED headlamps, but lacks storage space for more than one helmet and a digital instrument cluster.
Regarding mileage, the Jupiter achieves 55 km under electric assist technology, while the Activa provides a mileage of 50 kmpl. In terms of pricing, the 2024 TVS Jupiter starts at Rs 73,700 (ex-showroom), and the Honda Activa H Smart variant starts at Rs 76,684, with a maximum price of up to Rs. 82,684.
