However, contrary to expectations, there has been a gradual decline in the gold prices. The most recent drop was observed on Wednesday, with gold rates decreasing across major cities in the country.

- In the national capital Delhi, the price of 22 carat 10 gram gold on Tuesday was Rs. 66,740, while 24 carat gold was at Rs. 72,790.
- Moving to Mumbai, 22 carat gold was priced at Rs. 66,590, and 24 carat gold at Rs. 72,640.
- In Chennai, the prices for 22 carat and 24 carat gold stood at Rs. 66,590 and Rs. 72,640 respectively.
- Bangalore reported the prices of 22 carat and 24 carat gold at Rs. 66,590 and Rs. 72,640.
In Telugu states like Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, and Vijayawada, the rates for 22 carat Tulam gold were consistent at Rs. 66,590, and 24 carat gold at Rs. 72,640.
Shifting focus to silver prices, an increase was noted as the gold prices declined. On Wednesday, the price per kilogram of silver rose to Rs. 100. This led to varying silver rates in different cities, with places like Kolkata and Jaipur having silver prices at Rs. 87,100 per kilo. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam, the cost of a kilo of silver remained steady at Rs. 87,100 to Rs. 92,100.
