State-owned Bharat Telecom Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has seen better days after private mobile companies hiked recharge rates. In the past few days, lakhs of people have ported their SIM cards from private companies to BSNL. Now crores of mobile users are eagerly awaiting BSNL 4G, hoping for cheaper recharge plans. BSNL’s competitive stance against other telecom giants like Airtel, Jio, and Vodafone Idea is evident through its more economical prepaid offerings.

Efforts are underway to introduce 4G and 5G services, catering to the evolving needs of consumers seeking faster connectivity. Among its popular plans is the Rs. 485 Plan, boasting an 82-day validity period, 1.5 GB data per day, unlimited calling, 100 daily SMS, free national roaming, and unlimited calls within the network. BSNL’s cost-effective recharge options have prompted a significant migration from pricier private operators, with many users already making the switch to BSNL.
