In the wake of the recent heavy rains and floods in Andhra Pradesh, many residents have found themselves facing significant challenges, particularly concerning essential documentation. Numerous individuals have reported that their important certificates, including SSC, OSSC, Vocational, DEL, ED, TTC, and others required for employment, have been damaged by the flooding.
In response to this crisis, the coalition government of Andhra Pradesh has announced a vital relief measure: candidates who have lost their certificates due to the floods can apply for duplicate documents free of charge. Education department officials from various districts have confirmed that applications for these duplicate certificates can be submitted until October 12.
To facilitate the application process, residents are required to provide a self-declaration, a photocopy of their Aadhaar card for proof of residential address, and any available photocopies of the lost certificates. Applications should be submitted to the head teachers of the respective local schools, who will then forward them to the District Education Officer for processing. Upon review, duplicate certificates will be issued to the candidates from the respective boards.
This initiative aims to alleviate the distress experienced by those who have lost crucial documents, allowing them to secure job opportunities without unnecessary delays.
Additionally, it is important to note that the deadline for applying for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) is approaching. B. Chandrasekhar Singh, Deputy Education Officer for the Port Division, has stated that students must apply online by October 15. This includes students selected for NMMS in 2023, 2022, 2021, and 2020, along with new candidates or those seeking to renew their applications. There will be no extension beyond this final deadline.
