In a significant development for aspiring police constables in Andhra Pradesh, the long-awaited physical fitness tests for filling 6,100 police constable posts are set to resume. The Kutami Sarkar has announced plans to restart the recruitment process, providing much-needed relief to candidates who have been waiting for nearly two years.

Resumption of Recruitment Process

The announcement comes after the previous government’s regime had halted the physical fitness tests midway. The Chairman of the Police Recruitment Board revealed that arrangements are underway to conduct the physical fitness tests in the last week of December this year. This news has been eagerly anticipated by candidates who had been preparing for this opportunity since the notification was released.

Background of the Recruitment Drive

The notification for these 6,100 police constable positions was issued on November 28, 2022, and the preliminary written test took place on January 22, 2023. Out of 459,182 candidates who took the exam, 95,208 qualified for the next stage. However, only 91,507 candidates applied online for the subsequent fitness and physical ability tests. The board chairman announced that an additional opportunity would be provided for the remaining candidates to apply.

Application Details

The online application portal will be activated at 3 PM on November 11, and candidates can submit their applications until 5 PM on November 21. This marks a crucial last chance for those who have yet to apply for the physical fitness tests. Candidates are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity, as the previous attempts to schedule the tests were postponed due to various reasons, including the graduation elections.

Candidates’ Concerns

Candidates have faced uncertainty regarding the recruitment process, especially since the physical tests were postponed after initial schedules were set for March 2023. With the lack of clarity on the exam timeline, there has been considerable concern among candidates who have dedicated extensive time and effort in preparation. The recent announcement from the Police Recruitment Board chairman has alleviated some of that anxiety, providing a clearer path forward for prospective police constables.

Conclusion

The resumption of physical fitness tests is a welcome development for candidates aspiring to join the Andhra Pradesh police force. With the application window opening soon, candidates are urged to prepare diligently and ensure they seize this final opportunity to advance in the recruitment process. The state government’s renewed commitment to fulfilling these vacancies demonstrates its support for law enforcement and the importance of maintaining a robust police force.
