In a recent report by the popular job portal Naukri.com, it has come to light that women, despite being at the forefront in various fields, are facing challenges in managing both their professional and family roles. The age-old notion that “Job is a masculine attribute” is being challenged as women prove their capabilities and even outperform men in many aspects of work life.
The report highlights the struggle faced by women in juggling home and office responsibilities. A significant number of women surveyed expressed difficulties in maintaining a work-life balance, leading some to quit their jobs due to the overwhelming demands. Moreover, a substantial percentage of women find it challenging to re-enter the workforce after childbirth, citing reasons such as inconvenient working hours and family obligations.
Despite their comparable skills and qualifications, a notable portion of women believe they have fewer growth opportunities than their male counterparts. However, there is a growing recognition of gender equality in the workplace, with 73% of women acknowledging equal opportunities. Interestingly, some men also perceive women as having more chances for advancement.
Pawan Goyal, the Chief Business Officer of Naukri.com, emphasized the importance of addressing these issues to create a more inclusive work environment. While some women report working for lower salaries, a majority believe there is no disparity in pay based on gender.
This report sheds light on the intricate challenges faced by women who strive to excel in their careers while fulfilling familial responsibilities, highlighting the need for continued support and initiatives to promote gender equality in the workplace.
