IRCTC Launches Special Train for Ayyappa Devotees: Complete Details of the Sabarimala Yatra

Devotees of Ayyappa Swamy can now embark on their sacred journey to Sabarimala with ease, thanks to the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). As part of its Bharat Gaurav initiative, IRCTC has introduced a special train service dedicated to facilitating this pilgrimage, offering a hassle-free experience for the faithful.

Journey Overview

The special train is set to depart from Secunderabad on November 16 at 8 AM. This unique tour package, designed to provide a comprehensive Sabarimala experience, is set to take place from November 16 to 20. Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager of South Central Railway, recently unveiled the travel brochure for this exciting venture.

Itinerary Details:

  • Day 1: Departure from Secunderabad at 8 AM.
  • Day 2: Arrival in Chenganur, Kerala, at 7 AM. From there, pilgrims will travel by road to Neelakkal and then take an RTC bus to Pamba, where they will enjoy an overnight stay.
  • Day 3: Pilgrims will participate in the darshan and abhishekam. Later, they will head to Chotanikkara/Ernakulam around 1 PM for another overnight stay.
  • Day 4: The group will visit the Chotanikkara Ammavari temple at 7 AM, before returning to the local railway station. The return journey will commence at noon, with the train arriving back in Secunderabad at 9:45 PM the same day.

Package Costs

The package offers various pricing options based on travel class:

  • Economy (SL) Class: ₹11,475 per ticket; ₹10,655 for girls aged 5-11.
  • 3AC Class: ₹18,790 per ticket; ₹17,700 for girls aged 5-11.
  • Comfort (2AC) Class: ₹24,215 per ticket; ₹22,910 for girls aged 5-11.

The package includes morning tea, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, though entry fees to temples are not included.
