In 1986, Sitara made her debut in the film industry with the Malayalam movie ‘Kaveri’. Her exceptional performance in this first film quickly garnered her a strong reputation, leading to numerous offers in various languages. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, she emerged as one of the most sought-after artists. At the age of 51, Sitara remains unmarried, despite her remarkable talent and popularity as a leading actress in the South Indian film industry.
Over the years, Sitara has showcased her acting prowess in a multitude of films across Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam languages. Transitioning from her initial roles as a heroine, she later excelled in portraying supporting characters like a mother, aunt, and grandmother. Sitara’s journey in the film industry has been adorned with over a hundred film credits, both on the big screen and television.
In a recent revelation, Sitara disclosed her decision to remain single, citing her parents’ influence as a key factor. Her parents, who serve as medical board officers, instilled in her the belief that marriage would entail leaving them behind. Following her father’s passing, any thoughts of marriage faded away. Despite societal pressures and inquiries about her marital status, Sitara finds contentment in her busy professional life, expressing no sense of loneliness.
With a career spanning more than three decades, Sitara’s dedication to her craft shines through in her extensive body of work. While she took a hiatus from Malayalam cinema post the 2015 film ‘Saigal Patukuk’, she continues to actively engage in the Tamil and Telugu film industries.
