Demi opened up about the physical and emotional challenges she faced during production. She revealed, “To give you an idea of the intensity, during my first week off, when it was just Margaret [Qualley] working, I came down with shingles.” This unexpected diagnosis served as a stark reminder of the impact such an intense role can have on one’s body and mind. Demi also mentioned, “I ended up losing around 20 pounds.”
Shingles is a painful condition that can be triggered by stress, caused by the reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus, which also causes chickenpox.
