As far as the story of the movie Rayan is concerned, Dhanush, who lost his parents at an early age, embarks on a journey to Chennai with his two brothers and a sister after realizing their safety is compromised in their village. In Chennai, Dhanush encounters Selvaraghavan, and with his assistance, takes on the responsibility of caring for his siblings and their home.
