Alia Bhatt continues to blaze a trail with her latest action-packed thriller Jigra, proving that the word “boring” doesn’t apply to her career. In Jigra, she not only saves the day but shakes up the box office, further solidifying her as a versatile and captivating force in Indian cinema. Filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh lauds her as an invaluable talent, while director Vasan Bala admires her fierce commitment to her craft.
Despite her impressive 99 percent success rate, Alia remains grounded, attributing much of her success to luck and the directors she’s worked with. “When I get a script, I read it like an audience, then think about myself. I’m not trying to be modest, but I feel very lucky. Even as a co-producer on Jigra, on set, I’m the director’s puppet, fully surrendering to their vision,” she shares, humbly emphasizing her dedication to the process.
In Jigra, Alia takes on the role of a fiercely protective sister, channeling the natural maternal instincts she’s embraced since the birth of her daughter Raha in 2022. “I could relate to the story’s essence of protection, and I was captivated by the unique and emotionally layered sibling dynamic,” Alia explains.
Currently enjoying a winning streak alongside her husband Ranbir Kapoor, Alia looks forward to their next collaboration on Love and War, set for 2025. Though social media buzzes with comparisons between her gritty action persona in Jigra and Ranbir’s role in Animal, Alia insists there’s no competition. “I’m grateful that my husband is not only a wonderful actor but also my best friend. We discuss scenes, support each other, and it’s a beautiful thing to share,” she says.
Alia delights in introducing her daughter to their work, albeit in bite-sized doses. From the popular “Kesariya” track to classics like Radha and Badtameez Dil, little Raha is getting an early taste of her parents’ artistry.
As Alia gears up for her next venture, Alpha, set to release in December 2025, fans can expect even more from this dynamic star, who’s never content with just being an actor. Alia Bhatt continues to redefine the boundaries of Indian cinema, bringing passion and depth to every role she plays.
