Kriti Sanon is stepping into new territory with her upcoming Netflix release, Do Patti. Not only is she playing two roles on screen as sisters, but she is also debuting as a producer for the film. Following the footsteps of Bollywood stars like Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma, Kriti is proving that her talent extends beyond acting as she embraces the challenges of production.
After the trailer launch of Do Patti, Kriti shared her journey into the world of production. “Some stories touch your heart more than others,” she said. “The storyline of Do Patti is so intriguing, with characters that are mostly grey and unexpected twists that go beyond what the trailer shows. I wanted to be part of this on a deeper level. Producing a film is tough, but it’s been a beautiful journey of learning.”
For Kriti, producing has shifted her perspective on filmmaking. “I realized that every minute counts. When I needed to change costumes between shots, I would ask the director to keep shooting so we wouldn’t waste time,” she shared. Her dedication to the project highlights her commitment to every facet of filmmaking, from reading the first draft to fine-tuning the final one.
Kriti also discussed the joy of working alongside Kajol, whom she shared the screen with in Dilwale eight years ago. “I was thrilled when I found out Kajol Ma’am would be joining Do Patti. Back then, I was new and in awe of her. In this film, I finally got to have meaty scenes with her and spend time learning from her. She even gave me tips on delivering my lines!” Kriti expressed her admiration for Kajol’s enduring charm and presence, saying, “Her eyes are magical, and she brings something amazing to the screen.”
