Renowned actress Rohini has been chosen to lead this committee, taking on the role of president. The internal committee within the Nadikar community of Star Organization has been operational since 2019, but recent events have spurred a reinvigoration of its efforts.

Following the publication of the Justice Hema Committee report within the Malayalam film industry, a wave of allegations has surfaced against various actors, leading to the registration of cases against certain artists. This has prompted calls from actresses in other industries for the establishment of similar committees to tackle harassment issues. In response to these demands, Nadikar Sangam has taken proactive steps to combat the mistreatment of women within the Kollywood industry.

Actress Rohini emphasized the importance of women stepping forward to file complaints, assuring that appropriate action will be taken against any individuals found guilty of sexual harassment. Nadikar Sangam has announced stringent measures, including a five-year ban on offenders and the provision of comprehensive legal support for affected women.
