At a recent promotional event for his upcoming film Thandel, popular actor Akkineni Naga Chaitanya voiced his concerns about the pressure that comes with setting rigid release dates before a film’s completion. He shared his perspective on the challenges the industry faces when release schedules dictate creative timelines. “I am apprehensive about fixing a date for release and then working fast to meet the deadline,” he stated, emphasizing that rushed production can compromise the quality of the final product.
Reflecting on past experiences, Chaitanya noted, “I have experienced this pressure; some of my films were released on the scheduled date without properly completing all aspects, and they were a bit disappointing.” He believes that focusing on creative satisfaction first can lead to a better film outcome. “We need to watch the first copy and be satisfied, and then draft the release plan,” he added.
For Thandel, Chaitanya revealed that he frequently checked with the film’s director and producer about the release date to ensure the film would be completed to its full potential. He even “pestered Allu Arvind garu” for clarity, to which Arvind assured him that he would evaluate the film’s quality and budget before finalizing the release plan.
