Tollywood actress Niharika Konidela is riding high on success, with her latest production under Pink Elephant Pictures, Committee Kurrollu, being hailed as a runaway hit. While many believe this to be her debut production, Niharika reveals her journey began in 2015 with the YouTube series Mudda Pappu Avakaya, even before her acting career took off. “I didn’t transition from acting to production; I have both feet in two different boats, and I’m sailing together,” she explains.
Niharika’s next venture is a web series titled Bench Life. When asked why she gravitates towards youthful themes, the actor-turned-producer said, “I only pick scripts that I believe the audience will enjoy. I listen as a viewer, and if I feel excited, I produce it.”
Her collaboration with Sony Liv for Bench Life was driven by her curiosity to explore the lives of IT professionals beyond their work environments. Reflecting on the influence of OTT platforms, Niharika shared, “OTT has transformed the industry. It has given producers the courage to experiment with diverse genres without relying on box office numbers.”
In addition to her production work, Niharika remains busy with acting. Her next project is a Tamil film scheduled for release in November. Speaking about the future of Pink Elephant Pictures, she mentioned, “We’re listening to stories and have several projects in the pipeline.”
With her family deeply rooted in both politics and film, Niharika says their dinner conversations often blend both topics. She values feedback from her father, Nagababu, and brother, Varun Tej. As a producer, Niharika has showcased her versatility and passion for storytelling, and she’s eager to continue her creative journey.
