South superstar Samantha Ruth Prabhu is celebrating the rise of female actors taking the lead in action films! Known for her dynamic roles in Tamil and Telugu cinema, Samantha has explored her own passion for action with her upcoming series, Citadel: Honey Bunny. In a recent interview with PTI, she expressed excitement about joining a powerful lineup of female actors who are stepping into high-octane action roles.
“It’s truly inspiring to see actresses like Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Anushka Shetty, and others diving into action. Many women are now leading major action movies, which is amazing. I’m thrilled to explore this genre myself,” she shared. Samantha also praised Bollywood stars like Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani, Kiara Advani, and Kangana Ranaut, who have all contributed to the trend. According to her, “It’s incredible to see women taking control.”
Samantha’s entry into Hindi cinema with The Family Man Season 2, directed by Raj & DK, showcased her intense action skills as the main antagonist, even though much of her action sequences were nearly cut from the show. “I’m glad they kept it,” she said, reflecting on the importance of giving women bold, powerful roles on screen.
