Expressing shock at the distressing contents of the report, Urvashi emphasized that such incidents are not limited to the Malayalam film industry but are widespread across all sectors. She urged the government to implement stricter measures to safeguard women and ensure their protection.

The report compiled by the Justice Hema Committee has sent ripples through the Malayalam film industry, revealing the harrowing experiences of numerous women who have encountered sexual harassment. Following the report’s publication, several actresses came forward to accuse directors and actors of past instances of assault. Urvashi reiterated the need for swift and decisive action against perpetrators, affirming her unwavering support for the victims.

In a poignant statement, Urvashi disclosed her personal reaction to the report, stating, “I was deeply disturbed by the revelations of the Justice Hema Committee. As a woman working in the industry, it is alarming to realize the presence of such perpetrators among us. She emphasized the imperative for collective action to prevent the recurrence of such distressing incidents. Urging prompt governmental intervention, Urvashi called for robust measures to safeguard women’s rights and prevent future transgressions.
