On his 59th birthday, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan surprised fans with a major personal update: he’s officially quit smoking. At a celebratory event organized by his fan club in Mumbai, Shah Rukh shared this significant step towards better health. “There’s a good thing—I’m not smoking anymore, guys,” he announced to his delighted fans, adding with characteristic humor, “Thought I wouldn’t feel so breathless after quitting, but I still feel it. Insha Allah, that will also get OK.”

Known for his decades-long habit, SRK once confessed to smoking up to 100 cigarettes a day, a habit he’s now bid farewell to in hopes of a healthier life. His decision to quit smoking resonates deeply, as he has previously faced public criticism for smoking in public, including a 2012 incident during an IPL match that resulted in a fine.
