Siddhant Chaturvedi gears up for his debut as an action hero in the upcoming film Yudhra, expressing his enthusiasm for the challenging role. During a conversation with DC, he disclosed that his off-screen persona starkly differs from the character he portrays, emphasizing his effort to authentically depict the character’s inner turmoil. When asked if he would be the next Angry Young Man akin to Amitabh Bachchan from the 70s, Siddharth modestly deflected comparisons, acknowledging Bachchan’s unparalleled legacy and unique acting prowess that has captivated audiences across generations.
Director Ravi Udyawar shed light on his decision to cast Siddhant Chaturvedi, emphasizing the need for a fresh face in the action hero domain. Impressed by Siddhant’s natural and unencumbered performance in his first action-oriented role, Ravi expressed satisfaction with the outcome. Notably, Ravi, known for his work on the film “Mom” featuring the late Sridevi, expressed his delight in venturing into diverse genres through projects like Yudhra.
Speaking about the film’s narrative, Ravi drew parallels between Yudhra, penned by Sridhar Raghavan, and Shakespeare’s renowned tragedy Hamlet, framing it as a classic tale of vengeance centered around a character grappling with uncontrolled anger. While Ravi refrained from commenting on the sensitive Hema Committee report due to his focus on Yudhra, the film itself marks the Bollywood debut of leading lady Malavika Mohanan. Joining the cast are Raj Arjun, Ram Kapoor, and Gajraj Rao, in pivotal roles, in this production helmed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment, slated for a September 20 release date.
