After captivating audiences with her performances in glam-centric hits like Kaavaala from Jailer and Aaj Ki Raat from Stree 2, actress Tamannaah is set to showcase her versatility in a completely new avatar. She takes on the unique role of a lady Aghora (tantric) in the much-anticipated film Odela 2. Her character, named Shiva Shakti, promises to be a powerful and compelling presence on screen.
Young director Ashoke Teja praised Tamannaah’s ability to transform for this challenging role, stating, “She easily slipped into the character and delivered a gripping performance. Her look and gait were spot on, and her transformation was mind-blowing.” The collaboration between Ashoke and Tamannaah marks an exciting chapter for both, as they aim to create a memorable cinematic experience.
Sampath Nandi, who has previously worked with Tamannaah on successful Telugu films like Raacha and Bengal Tiger, provided the script for Odela 2. With a strong rapport established over the years, Sampath narrated this unique character to Tamannaah, who immediately agreed to join the project.
Director Ashoke Teja, who tasted massive success with the first installment, Odela, is determined to prove that content-driven films can successfully have sequels. “We found a perfect script for the sequel, and everything fell into place. While there are some links to the first part, Odela 2 stands as an independent and intriguing movie on its own,” he shared.
In an exciting development, the gripping thriller will also be released in Hindi, tapping into Tamannaah’s growing popularity among Hindi audiences. Ashoke Teja emphasized the film’s universal appeal, stating, “It’s bound to grab the attention of non-Telugu viewers since it’s a perfect new-age entertainer.”
