The coalition government in Andhra Pradesh, under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, has significantly accelerated the development of Amaravati, moving forward with ambitious infrastructure projects to transform the capital city. Recently, CM Naidu inaugurated the first-of-its-kind gas-insulated substation (GIS) in Tallaiyapalem, a crucial step to ensure uninterrupted, high-quality power supply to Amaravati.

New GIS Substation to Power Amaravati’s Growth

The 400/220 KV gas-insulated substation, established by the Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited (AP Transco), is designed to cater to the growing energy needs of the capital city and surrounding areas. Prior to this, Amaravati was dependent on power from the Tadikonda substation, but with the rapid expansion of the capital, the new GIS substation will provide stable power to Tullur, Mangalagiri, Tadepalli mandals, and even support the industries in Guntur and NTR districts.

CM Naidu laid the foundation for the new substation with a focus on creating a reliable infrastructure that will enable Amaravati to grow into a thriving metropolis. Additionally, the government has committed to completing other significant projects, including 11 new substations across the state, with a total investment of 6,098 crores, all expected to be completed within the next year.

Efforts to Resolve Land Pooling Dilemma

Along with the new infrastructure, Municipal Minister Narayana has been actively working to resolve issues related to land pooling for Amaravati’s development. The government faced challenges in the past when some farmers hesitated to participate in the land pooling process due to concerns and misconceptions. To address these doubts, Minister Narayana personally visited the residence of farmer Anumolu Gandhi in Vijayawada to explain the necessity of the capital and the government’s assurances regarding their concerns.

This proactive approach aims to boost farmer confidence and expedite the progress of Amaravati’s construction. The government is determined to overcome the hurdles and make Amaravati a world-class city.

Amaravati 2.0 – The Road Ahead

As the development of Amaravati progresses at full speed, CM Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that the city, once regarded as a barren desert, will soon transform into one of the leading cities in India. The comprehensive action plan spearheaded by the AP government is set to create a solid foundation for the capital’s growth, ensuring that the city is equipped with modern infrastructure, facilities, and opportunities for residents and businesses alike.

With a clear vision for Amaravati 2.0, the state is working tirelessly to bring the dream of a vibrant, well-planned capital to fruition. The collaboration of government officials and the support of the local farming community will be crucial in accelerating the city’s transformation into the jewel of Andhra Pradesh.
