The AP government, in collaboration with the prestigious IIT Madras (IITM), has taken transformative steps by signing eight crucial agreements aimed at utilizing cutting-edge technology and research to benefit the state.
The agreements, signed in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh, span across various sectors including education, skill development, marine research, artificial intelligence, and sports. Key Agreements Signed
- IITM – APCRDA:
Aimed at setting up an International Deep Tech Research, Design, Innovation, and Incubation Park in Amaravati. IIT Madras will provide technical consultancy and work with the AP government both physically and virtually to position Amaravati as an international city. - IITM – AP Maritime Board:
Focuses on marine research, coastal energy harvesting, and communication technologies. The agreement emphasizes consultancy, education, and training in marine projects. - IITM – AP Skill Development Corporation:
Enhances the quality of skill development programs through platforms like Swayam Plus and IITM Pravartak Digital Skill Academy. - IITM – AP Education Department:
Provides advanced technical training for students and teachers at all levels through IITM Pravartak Vidya Shakti. This agreement aims to align education with industry needs. - IITM – Department of Investment & Infrastructure:
Converts airports like Kuppam and Puttaparthi into logistics and maintenance hubs, identifying and developing business opportunities. - IITM – IT Department:
Develops Visakhapatnam as an internet gateway to enhance international data connectivity for Andhra Pradesh using advanced global technology. - IITM – RTGS Department:
Improves software infrastructure in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, with collaboration through IITM Pravartak. - IITM – Department of Sports:
Facilitates the creation of a smart tech-enabled sports city with international facilities in Amaravati, leveraging IIT Madras’ expertise.
