On Tuesday, a significant blaze erupted at the cafe located in Dino Park, a popular tourist spot near Beach Road. The fire ignited at approximately 11:30 am, prompting a rapid response from the firefighters.
It is believed that the continuous operation of the air conditioning units within the cafe may have triggered a short circuit. The establishment functions under a lease agreement with GVMC. Upon noticing the fire, the workers inside the cafe quickly exited and informed the fire authorities.
All employees and visitors were successfully evacuated, with no reported injuries, although the cafe sustained extensive damage. Hanumantha Rao, the fire officer from the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation, alleges that the establishment was operating without the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the fire department.
