Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt has embraced a new challenge by playing a negative character in the upcoming South Indian film ‘Double ISMART,’ directed by Puri Jagannadh. Alongside lead actor Ram Pothineni, Dutt faced the press following the release of the energetic song ‘Big Bull’ from the movie.
Expressing his excitement about venturing into the South film industry, Dutt remarked, “After working on numerous films, it’s refreshing to portray a villainous role down South. Playing a negative character offers a unique opportunity. One gets to experience a variety of actions, including inflicting and enduring blows.”
When questioned about his interest in performing romantic roles, Dutt initially appeared surprised, exclaiming, “Romance now? What do you mean?” However, he later stated, “Yes, I would consider a romantic role if a compelling script comes my way.” Reflecting on his preference for mainstream cinema, Dutt referred to himself as a ‘massy hero’ and fondly recalled his past work in films like ‘Saajan,’ promising, “I will recreate the magic of ‘Saajan’ once again!”
In response to whether he had encountered a ‘Double ISMART’ moment in his life, Dutt humorously declared that his life was not just ‘Double ISMART’ but a hundred times ‘Double ISMART’. He affirmed his enjoyment of this dynamic lifestyle.
On the other hand, Ram Pothineni expressed his enjoyment of the character crafted by Puri Jagannadh in ‘Double ISMART’ but cautioned against emulating it in reality. “Please refrain from imitating this character in real life, as it could lead you to trouble within 30 minutes,” warned Pothineni.
Featuring Kavya Thapar as the female lead, ‘Double ISMART’ is set to premiere globally in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.
