Central Team Assesses Flood Damage in Andhra Pradesh: ₹26,882 Crore Estimated Loss

An inter-ministerial central team of six members began inspecting flood-affected areas in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday to evaluate the damage to crops and properties.

The team was divided into two groups: three members assessed the situation in Guntur and Bapatla districts, while the remaining three focused on Krishna district.

The members of the team include:

Anil Subrahmanyam, Union Home Joint Secretary
AL Wagmer, Director of Agriculture Welfare (Maharashtra)
Rakesh Kumar, Chief Engineer of Surface Transport (Vijayawada)
RB Koul, Finance Consultant (New Delhi)
Pradeep Kumar, Deputy Secretary of Rural Development
SVSP Sarma, Scientist at the National Remote Sensing Centre and ISRO
According to R.P. Sisodia, Special Chief Secretary for Disaster Management in Andhra Pradesh, the damage caused by the recent rains and floods has been estimated at ₹26,882 crore.
