Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the integration of PPP and P-4 models (public-private-people-partnership) into the upcoming industrial policy. He highlighted that granting the necessary approvals would pave the way for the establishment of more industries within the state. Pointing out the presence of 10 seaports, airports, and various services in Andhra Pradesh, Naidu expressed his intent to attract investors to the region. He advocated for the support of sectors such as green energy, green hydrogen, electric vehicle manufacturing, aquaculture, and food processing.
A forthcoming meeting is scheduled for August 23 to further deliberate on the formulation of the new industrial policy. During a review of the health department’s operations with Minister Satya Kumar and senior officials, Naidu urged for the enhancement of healthcare facilities in Andhra Pradesh to excel on a national level. He proposed the establishment of hospitals under the PPP model at each assembly segment by providing the necessary land, aiming to unify government-run and PPP-developed healthcare facilities.
Naidu highlighted the success of the Med tech zone, generating a turnover of 10,000 crore, and its provision of affordable medical equipment. He called for data collection on kidney disease prevalence at the mandal level and emphasized the importance of water safety assessments in areas with high incidences of kidney ailments. Furthermore, Naidu stressed the need for a comprehensive survey on tuberculosis patients and the regular supply of medications to them. He recommended the availability of CT scan services and free lab tests at all district hospitals.
Expressing concern over reported cases of infants going missing post-delivery in government hospitals, Naidu warned of strict actions against negligent staff. He also addressed the issue of patients being transported on stretchers (dolis), urging for improved ambulance connectivity to ensure efficient emergency services. Naidu underscored that officials would be held accountable if patients continue to be transported on stretchers.
