In a significant move to enhance the cleanliness drive in Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu announced the immediate abolition of the garbage tax on Wednesday. During his address at the Swachhata Hi Seva program in Machilipatnam on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the CM declared that the garbage tax collection has been stopped across the state, bringing relief to residents.

Chief Minister Naidu urged citizens to take up the role of “Swachh Seva” representatives, contributing to the vision of making Andhra Pradesh a Swachh state by 2029. “We are aiming for a Swachh Andhra Pradesh, and this journey needs the participation of every citizen,” Naidu said.

Reflecting on the origins of the state’s Clean and Green initiatives, Naidu mentioned that such programs began as early as 1998 in combined Andhra Pradesh. Now, he is determined to ramp up efforts, instructing Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana to expedite the removal of garbage across all towns and cities within the next 365 days.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Konidela Pawan Kalyan concluded his 11-day Prayaschith Deeksha on Wednesday by offering prayers at the sacred seven hills of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swami in Tirumala. The spiritual observance was in response to recent issues surrounding the Srivari Laddu prasadam and aimed to uphold the protection of ‘Sanatana Dharma.’

With both leaders making impactful decisions and spiritual commitments, Andhra Pradesh is taking strong strides towards a cleaner and culturally rooted future.
