At the prestigious Best Teacher Awards ceremony in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu underscored the essential role teachers play in building the future of students and the state. Speaking at the event on Monday, CM Naidu highlighted the responsibility teachers have in guiding young minds, stating, “Parents educate their children, but teachers spend more time with them. Teachers hold the responsibility of moulding students’ futures.”

Emphasizing the balance between cultural preservation and global readiness, he added, “While English is needed for earning, the mother tongue is crucial for saving the nation, culture, and traditions. Both Telugu and English should hold equal importance as we progress.”

Chief Minister Naidu, along with Education Minister Nara Lokesh, presented the Best Teacher awards to 174 exemplary educators. The awardees included 75 school teachers, 26 college faculty members, 16 polytechnic educators, 32 university professors, 19 degree college lecturers, and four teachers from engineering and pharmacy colleges. These dedicated individuals have significantly contributed to the state’s educational progress and student success.

Naidu also praised the contributions of notable Indian educators like Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, who established the IITs in 1951, and Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who began his career as a teacher in Renigunta. “This shows the power and potential of teachers,” Naidu emphasized.

In parallel to the Teacher Awards event, Minority Welfare Minister N. Md Farooq presided over the National Minority Welfare Day celebrations at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada. The event honored the legacy of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, recognizing his impactful work for social and educational upliftment among minorities.

The day was a powerful reminder of the transformative influence teachers hold and the state’s commitment to honoring their invaluable work in shaping tomorrow’s citizens.
