In a significant meeting held in Hyderabad, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy engaged with students from the Gurukuls of the Madhira Constituency, Khammam District, to understand their educational needs and experiences. Emphasizing his administration’s commitment to quality education, the CM shared several new initiatives aimed at supporting the educational journey and skill development of Telangana’s youth.

During the interaction, the students expressed gratitude for the recent increase in diet charges, a move aimed at improving the quality of resources available to them. CM Reddy took the opportunity to inquire directly about the conditions in the Gurukuls, showcasing his hands-on approach to governance. “The aim of this government is to provide quality education for all, along with the necessary facilities to support students’ growth,” he stated.

The CM outlined several transformative steps to ensure holistic development for Telangana’s students. These initiatives include:

  1. Promotions and Recruitment of Teachers
To strengthen the educational framework, 21,000 teachers have been promoted, and 11,062 new teacher posts have been filled, ensuring that students receive guidance from well-trained educators.
  2. Young India Integrated Residential Schools
To foster social justice and equal opportunities for SC, ST, BC, and minority students, the government is establishing Young India integrated residential schools across constituencies, covering an extensive 20-25 acres each. These schools, expected to be operational by the next academic year, aim to provide an inclusive environment focused on education and personal growth.
  3. Young India Skills University
Recognizing the importance of skill development alongside traditional education, the government has established the Young India Skills University. This institution will provide technical and vocational training, equipping students and unemployed youth with industry-relevant skills. Collaborating with Tata Institute, the government is also transforming ITIs into Advanced Training Centers (ATCs), ensuring job readiness and skill proficiency among graduates.
  4. Young India Sports University
With a vision for sporting excellence, especially targeting the Olympics, CM Reddy announced plans for the Young India Sports University. This institution will encourage students to participate in sports and provide training for aspiring athletes, creating a well-rounded approach to education that includes both academics and athletics.
  5. Caste Enumeration Survey
As part of a larger commitment to social justice, the government is conducting a caste enumeration survey. This will enable a more accurate understanding of community needs, aiding in the creation of tailored policies and educational programs that serve all communities equitably.

Highlighting the broader objectives of these initiatives, CM Reddy remarked, “Education is more than academics; it includes medical, employment, and personal development opportunities.” His administration’s goal is to not only prepare students academically but also support them with the skills and resources they need to succeed in today’s competitive environment.

In addition to academics, CM Reddy encouraged students to participate in nation-building and to excel in sports, stressing the importance of character, discipline, and resilience as they prepare for their future careers.

The meeting concluded with a message of empowerment, with the CM urging students to make the most of these new opportunities and play an active role in shaping Telangana’s future.
