The Eastern Naval Command (ENC) has launched a comprehensive cleanliness drive under the Swachhata Special Campaign 4.0, aimed at promoting cleanliness and addressing outstanding issues from October 2 to October 31. This campaign is part of a larger initiative to raise awareness about cleanliness, streamline office operations, and ensure proper record-keeping, with a particular focus on field operations.
Under the headquarters of ENC, various units and establishments are engaging in numerous activities designed to enhance cleanliness and environmental sustainability. These include special drives to clean hard-to-reach areas, the disposal of discarded vehicles and equipment, and the efficient management of e-waste. Additionally, the campaign is raising awareness about the importance of recycling and waste management in the face of rapid infrastructure development and industrial growth in Visakhapatnam.
Naval personnel, defense civilians, and the local population are all being sensitized to the importance of sustainable waste management through these activities. The Eastern Naval Command is actively fostering collaboration between the naval community and local residents, encouraging a joint effort to create a cleaner, greener environment.
A statement from the ENC highlighted that these eco-friendly initiatives aim to instill an environmentally respectful attitude, contributing to a healthier and cleaner tomorrow. By working together, the ENC hopes to set an example of environmental responsibility that resonates both within the Navy and throughout the surrounding community.
