British singer and pianist Elton John announced on Instagram that he has been suffering from a serious eye infection over the summer, which has sadly resulted in limited vision in one of his eyes.
“I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye,” Elton shared. He also extended his gratitude to his “excellent team of doctors and nurses” for their care.
Elton expressed heartfelt thanks to his family—his husband, David Furnish, and their sons, Zachary, 13, and Elijah, 11—for “taking such good care of me over the last several weeks.”
Throughout the summer, Elton has been “recuperating at home” and remains hopeful about the progress he has made in his healing and recovery journey so far.
