Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (EPDCL) is set to make history as India’s first power distribution company to lead the charge in the union government’s Mission LIFE, a powerful initiative focused on environmental conservation and sustainable development. EPDCL, under the guidance of Chairman and Managing Director E. Prudhvi Tej, is actively aligning with Mission LIFE’s vision to promote eco-friendly practices and inspire communities towards a greener future.
EPDCL’s initiatives will emphasize core areas of sustainable living: waste reduction, water conservation, energy savings, and the shift toward renewable energy sources. Additionally, the company will promote the use of energy-efficient appliances certified by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE). These initiatives reflect EPDCL’s commitment to not only meet but exceed environmental standards, ensuring that communities across Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, East Godavari, and West Godavari districts can make informed choices to minimize their carbon footprint.
To amplify its message, EPDCL has joined hands with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), the Ministry of Power, and the Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (APSECM) to create a comprehensive communication strategy. This strategy will empower consumers with insights on choosing eco-friendly appliances and sustainable practices in daily life. A highlight of this campaign was the recent unveiling of the Mission LIFE promotional poster by EPDCL, designed by the BEE’s Media Adviser Wing for Southern States and Union Territories. The event witnessed the presence of esteemed officials including Praveen Gupta, Member of the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Milind Deora, Secretary of BEE, and senior leaders from the Andhra Pradesh power sector, such as Chandram, Bhaskar, and Kumar Reddy.
