For the first time in the country, ‘Disha – Divyanga Suraksha’ for the deaf and blind

Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner Sir Ravi Shankar has designed the ‘Disha Divyang Suraksha Program’ for the first time in the country to help the deaf and hard of hearing. Two toll free numbers have been made available.

If there is any danger to the deaf and blind in the city limits, if they call the police control room through these numbers or send a message on WhatsApp, the police will respond immediately. These toll free numbers are given by IT Minister Gudivada Amarnath, CP Ravi Shankar, YCP Uttarandhra Coordinator Y.V. Subbareddy and Dr. Suchitra Tadita, representative of Prajwala Vani charity organization, unveiled it on Friday. When deaf women are in trouble, if they make a video call to this mobile number and inform through gestures, the nearby police will be alerted and dispatched.

73374 34422 for the deaf and 73373 24466 for the blind. CP said that the app will also be made available soon.
