Former minister Botsa Satyanarayana has raised significant concerns regarding an ongoing investigation involving a drug container intercepted by the CBI on March 22 at Visakhapatnam port, allegedly containing drugs valued at 25,000 crore. Botsa has implicated Sandhya Aqua Marine Company, alleging ties to BJP state president D. Purandeshwari. Despite initial revelations, the CBI has maintained a consistent silence on the issue. Speaking at a press briefing in Visakhapatnam, the former minister claimed that the seized container held a substantial quantity of drugs, urging the State government to conduct a thorough inquiry and calling on MPs from north coastal Andhra to address the matter in Parliament. Referring to the operation as “Operation Gurda,” the former minister highlighted the need for a comprehensive investigation by the State government, especially given that the interception occurred during the YSRC government’s tenure. “The value of 25,000 crore worth of drugs cannot be underestimated,” he emphasized.
