In a significant address during the second day of the News 9 Global Summit in Stuttgart, Germany, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel highlighted the state’s emergence as a global leader in investment and trade. Patel, speaking virtually, expressed pride in Gujarat’s growing reputation as the most preferred investment destination for global companies.
The summit, which brought together influential leaders and businesses from across the world, further underscored the strengthening ties between Gujarat and Germany. Patel called on German companies to explore investment opportunities in Gujarat, citing the state’s robust investment climate, strategic location, and business-friendly policies.
At the heart of Patel’s speech was the mention of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, an initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2003. Patel noted that the summit has played a pivotal role in positioning Gujarat as a leader in trade, industry, and investment. He stressed that under PM Modi’s visionary leadership, India is now competing globally with a focus on inclusive growth through the mantra of “Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.”
“Today, Gujarat stands as a global leader, attracting Fortune 500 companies, with over 100 of them operating in the state,” Patel stated, underscoring the state’s pivotal role in shaping India’s business landscape. He also highlighted Gujarat’s growing prominence in cutting-edge sectors like semiconductor technology and green hydrogen—industries that align with the future needs of the global economy.
Gujarat’s increasing technological investments were a central theme of the CM’s address, with a particular focus on Gujarat’s role in India’s future technological ambitions. He pointed out that both domestic and international companies are increasingly looking at Gujarat as a key destination for technological development and innovation.
Patel further emphasized the importance of Gujarat’s partnerships with international players, particularly Germany. He said that the ongoing collaborations are not only strengthening economic ties but also paving the way for Gujarat to become a key player in India-Germany relations.
