IMD Predicts Thunderstorms in Andhra Pradesh: Recent Rainfall Data Revealed

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Amaravathi has predicted thunderstorms across various regions of Andhra Pradesh until August 12. According to a recent report, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are expected in specific areas of the north and south coastal regions of AP, Yanam, and Rayalaseema. Additionally, strong surface winds with speeds of 30-40 kmph may occur in isolated spots within the same vicinity. Over the past 24 hours leading up to 8.30 am on Thursday, significant rainfall was recorded in different locations: Koyyalagudem (Eluru) received 11.5 cm, Kukunoor (Eluru) 10.3 cm, Chintalapudi (Eluru) 8.3 cm, Kakinada 7.7 cm, Chintur (ASR district) 7.1 cm, Kunavaram (ASR) 7.0 cm, Polavaram (Eluru) 6.6 cm, Peddapuram (Kakinada) 6.4 cm, Tiruvuru (NTR district) 5.9 cm, and Vararamachandrapur (ASR) 5.4 cm.
