In the ASR district, approximately 300 villages in the Chintu and Kunavaram areas are facing renewed inundation due to the rising water levels of the Sabari river on Sunday. Authorities have issued a high alert, advising residents to relocate to safer zones or seek assistance from flood control centers. District collector Dinesh Kumar of Alluri Seetharamaraju mentioned that residents of flooded villages are being relocated to secure locations and provided with essential flood relief. However, inhabitants in Chintoor and Koonavaram mandals have reportedly not received the relief supplies.

To personally assess the situation, the collector navigated through various villages by boat. Relief efforts included the distribution of rice, vegetables, essential supplies, tarpaulins, and torches to affected families. Officials have been actively overseeing the distribution of relief materials and conducting rescue operations via boats in Chintoor, Kunavaram, VR Puram, and Etapaka mandals to aid those stranded in water.

Furthermore, Dinesh Kumar visited flood victims residing in temporary shelters to check on their well-being and sanitation conditions. Special medical camps have been established to mitigate the risk of infections. Reports indicate that the water level of the Godavari river stood at 42.83 meters in Kunavaram and Chinturu areas of the district by Sunday evening.
