Shailesh Kumar (32) and his wife Savita participated in the Karva Chauth rituals with great devotion. Savita fasted the entire day, praying for her husband’s long life and performing the traditional puja. Shailesh, in turn, made all the necessary arrangements for her fast and prayers.
According to police reports, the couple had been experiencing tension in their marriage, stemming from suspicions of infidelity. Savita believed that her husband was involved in an extramarital affair, which eventually led to the deadly confrontation.
