In a shocking turn of events, a major human trafficking racket has been exposed in Visakhapatnam. A gang operating on the Kirandol-Visakhapatnam Express has been secretly trafficking young girls and women from remote regions. The police acted swiftly, raiding the train and rescuing 11 girls who were unknowingly being transported to an unknown fate.
Human Trafficking Exposed
The trafficking racket was uncovered after police successfully apprehended Ravikumar Bisoi, the key figure behind the illegal transportation. The girls, hailing from marginalized regions of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and even Nepal, were lured with fake promises of better opportunities. What made the trafficking operation even more sophisticated was the use of fake Aadhaar cards, enabling the traffickers to move under the radar, unnoticed by both the Railway Police and other officials.
The Horrifying Scale of the Racket
According to the police, this gang is responsible for trafficking over 100 girls in the past months. The heart-wrenching question remains: where are these other victims now, and what has become of them? The police have launched a comprehensive investigation, but so far, many details about the fate of these trafficked women are unclear.
Police Investigation and Actions
After rescuing the girls, the Visakhapatnam police registered a case and have now handed over the matter to the Odisha police for further investigation. The authorities are now working on gathering more information about the full extent of the trafficking operation and identifying the other girls that have been affected.
This incident has raised serious concerns about the vulnerability of young girls and women from underprivileged backgrounds, and how easily they can fall prey to such horrifying schemes. The police are committed to ensuring that all victims are rescued and that those responsible are brought to justice.
