In order to transform KGH into a worldwide institution, Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav has underlined the value of teamwork and asked medical personnel to revive he spirit of service that first attracted prospective health professionals to this area.

During a review meeting on Monday at the King George Hospital (KGH) in Visakhapatnam, the minister discussed the state’s healthcare system’s upcoming needs and urgent concerns. Yadav arrived at the renowned 170-year-old KGH for his second hospital visit after his first visit to Tirupati.

“As opposed to holding out for government funding. We ought to enlist donors’ assistance to finish some projects. Let’s work together to bring about a significant transformation at KGH. It will take some time, but with everyone’s help, our educational system will become the greatest in the world.” stated Yadav.

The minister emphasized the ongoing problem of people choosing private hospitals over the many government healthcare institutions. “Arcgyasree has many advantages, but millions of crores of loans encumber it. We can win back the public’s faith if we direct these monies for our own hospitals,” he claimed.

He observed that patients continued to favor private hospitals even with the wide network of Village Health Clinics, PHCS, CHCS, UHCS, Area Hospitals, District Hospitals, and Specialty Hospitals that were provided at the village level. Yadav questioned about the officials’ unwillingness to work in underdeveloped areas. “How can we establish medical colleges and provide quality education if no one is willing to work in these regions ?”

Additionally, he cited examples of significant financial misappropriations in the healthcare industry, saying, “People’s representatives requested modernization of Visakhapatnam’s historic King George Hospital (KGH) during a review meeting convened by Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav at KGH. The efforts to improve medical services for patients arriving from neighboring Odisha and North Andhra were described by Collector Harendra Pra- sad. Palla Srinivasa Rao and MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju commended KGH for being a well-known facility to which patients are frequently transferred after all other alternatives for treatment have been exhausted.
