Renowned music composer MM Keeravaani, despite clinching the prestigious Academy Award for Best Original Song with the sensational track Naatu Naatu from RRR, emphasizes that awards primarily offer recognition rather than job opportunities. The infectious Telugu hit Naatu Naatu, crafted by Chandrabose and showcasing Ram Charan and Jr NTR, made history in 2022 as the first Indian film song to secure an Oscar. Keeravaani conveyed to PTI during an interview that while winning an Oscar is an esteemed accolade, it does not directly translate to obtaining work. He stressed that true competence, not accolades, is the key determinant for securing work opportunities.
