The National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes, and Narcotics (NACIN) held a prestigious valedictory ceremony on Saturday, celebrating the graduation of its latest batch of GST officers. The event marked a significant milestone for 32 GST Inspectors and 19 Tax Assistants, who have now completed their respective induction programs and are ready to serve in the field of taxation.
The graduating GST Inspectors underwent an intensive 14-week training course designed to equip them with comprehensive skills in indirect tax regulations, while the Tax Assistants completed a focused three-week training program. These programs, tailored to meet the evolving needs of India’s tax administration, aim to prepare officers to tackle the challenges of enforcing GST regulations effectively and responsibly.
Chief Guest Gopinath Jatti, DIG of the Vizag Range, emphasized the importance of discipline and responsibility in his address to the new officers. “As tax officers, Inspectors must fully understand their responsibilities and uphold the highest standards of discipline in their service to society,” he stated. His words highlighted the essential role of tax officers in supporting the nation’s economic integrity and fostering a compliant tax environment.
