Union Minister of State for Skill Development Jayant Chaudhary inaugurated the new National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) extension center at Andhra Medical Tech Zone (AMTZ) in Visakhapatnam. This initiative aims to address immediate skill gaps and empower youth in Andhra Pradesh by providing them with the tools and training needed for a promising career.

Set to begin classes in the 2024-25 academic session, the NSTI extension center will offer training in Computer Software Applications (CSA) under the Crafts Instructor Training Scheme (CITS). Additionally, the center will host short-term computer application courses through the Advanced Vocational Training scheme, supervised by the Directorate General of Training (DGT).

Equipped with a state-of-the-art computer lab and modern classrooms, the facility promises a supportive and professional learning environment. To further assist outstation students, free hostel accommodations will be available, along with on-campus mess facilities.

During the inauguration, Minister Jayant Chaudhary expressed gratitude for the state government’s support and reaffirmed the central government’s commitment to expanding skill infrastructure under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. “This new center will create opportunities for the locals, equipping them with skills for a better livelihood,” he said.

The inauguration coincided with the birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, a day commemorating the former President’s legacy in science and education. Minister Chaudhary paid tribute to Dr. Kalam’s lifelong dedication to empowering youth through skill development and innovation, highlighting the importance of continuing his mission to strengthen India’s workforce.

The NSTI extension center at AMTZ stands as a testament to the government’s commitment to nurturing skilled talent and advancing the local economy through strategic skill development.
