Visakhapatnam, November 25, 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Visakhapatnam on November 29, marking his first visit to Andhra Pradesh since the formation of the coalition government. This visit comes as a significant milestone for the state, which has been eagerly awaiting Modi’s participation in key projects aimed at boosting its development. IT Minister Nara Lokesh is personally overseeing the extensive preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit.

The Visit and Public Meeting:

The Prime Minister will arrive at INS Dega in Visakhapatnam at 3:40 PM on the 29th. From there, he will embark on a 500-meter roadshow from Tycoon Junction to SP Bungalow. The visit will culminate in a public meeting at the Andhra University College Ground, where Modi will address the people of Andhra Pradesh and lay the foundation stones for several pivotal projects.

Key Projects and Announcements:

During his visit, Modi will lay the foundation for two major projects in the region:

  1. NTPC Green Hydrogen Hub: The NTPC Green Hydrogen Hub at Pudimadaka in Achyutapuram mandal (Anakapalli district) is a massive initiative, with an estimated investment of around 85,000 crores. This project is expected to create approximately 25,000 jobs and significantly enhance the region’s economic profile, further solidifying Visakhapatnam’s standing as a growth hub.
  2. Visakhapatnam Railway Zone: One of the long-standing demands of the people of Andhra Pradesh, the Visakhapatnam Railway Zone, will also see significant progress. Though Visakhapatnam was designated as a railway zone in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, no steps were taken towards its establishment post-partition. However, with the formation of the coalition government, the process gained momentum. Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for the railway zone, fulfilling a decade-old promise and addressing a major grievance of the state’s people.

Political and Regional Impact:

The Prime Minister’s visit holds political significance as well, with prominent leaders including Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and other alliance ministers expected to attend. The event is anticipated to highlight issues like the privatization of the steel plant, the railway zone, and other important state projects.

Security Arrangements:

Given the significance of the visit, heavy security measures are being put in place. Nara Lokesh is overseeing the security arrangements, and Visakhapatnam district authorities have been put on high alert. The Visakhapatnam Collector has already inspected the preparation with public representatives and officials to ensure the event goes smoothly.

The visit, marking a new chapter in the state’s development, is generating widespread anticipation. Modi’s address is expected to touch upon various key issues crucial to the state’s future, solidifying his connection with the people of Andhra Pradesh.
