Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized on Saturday that the railway sector has significantly progressed in resolving longstanding challenges and is committed to ensuring comfortable travel for all societal segments. Following the virtual inauguration of three Vande Bharat Express trains, the Prime Minister highlighted the pivotal role of accelerated development in southern states for realizing the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047. During his address, he underscored the nation’s advancement towards the ‘Viksit Bharat’ objective through the modernization and expansion of Vande Bharat train services. These three trains now linking Meerut to Lucknow, Madurai to Bengaluru, and Chennai to Nagercoil mark notable milestones. The Prime Minister lauded the railways’ substantial progress in tackling persistent issues and introducing fresh prospects and solutions. “Our efforts will persist until the Indian Railways guarantees comfortable travel for all,” he affirmed. Stressing the significance of Southern states’ swift progress in achieving the ‘Viksit Bharat’ objective, he remarked, “Southern India embodies vast talent, resources, and opportunities.” He also highlighted the government’s commitment to prioritizing the development of Tamil Nadu and the broader Southern region.
