The former YouTube CEO, Susan Wojcicki, has passed away following a courageous battle with cancer. The heartbreaking news of her demise was shared by her husband, Dennis Troper, through a heartfelt message on Facebook. He expressed deep sorrow over the loss of his beloved partner of 26 years, a devoted mother to their five children, who fought non-small cell lung cancer for two years. Susan was not only a cherished spouse and confidante but also a brilliant intellect, a nurturing parent, and a beloved friend to many. Her profound influence on both her family and the global community will always be remembered. Though devastated by her departure, the family is thankful for the precious moments they shared with her and requests thoughts and prayers during this challenging period.

Sundar Pichai, honoring the memory of the esteemed industry leader, paid tribute to Susan on X, prompting an outpouring of respect from others. Susan had a special bond with Google, having provided her garage to Sergey Brin and Larry Page in 1993 for the development of Google’s search engine, as reported by Forbes. Joining Google as its 16th employee in 1999, she played a pivotal role in advocating for the acquisition of YouTube for $1.65 billion and subsequently expanding the platform’s viewership to 2.5 billion monthly viewers.
