Renowned Cartoonist Subhani Wins Prestigious National Award for Outstanding Newspaper Art

Renowned cartoonist Subhani from the Deccan Chronicle has been chosen to receive the prestigious national award for outstanding newspaper art by the Press Council of India. This recognition is for Subhani’s cartoon published in the Deccan Chronicle on February 5, 2022. The honor falls under the category of ‘Best Newspaper Art: Covering Cartoon, Caricature, and Illustrations’ at the National Awards for Excellence in Journalism 2023. The award package comprises a memento, a plaque, a citation, and a generous cash prize of 50,000 rupees. Ashok Tandon, a distinguished journalist and member of Prasar Bharati, will present the award to Subhani on August 5 in Delhi, with Justice Ranjana in attendance. Prakash Desai, the chairperson of the Press Council of India, and other council members will also be present at the ceremony.
