The state government has unveiled an ambitious initiative to revamp and enhance 231 temples falling under the 6A category, which generate an annual income ranging from 25 lakh to 1 crore. In addition to these, seven major temples statewide are also set to undergo development under this plan. State Minister for Endowments, Anam Rama Narayana Reddy, revealed this plan during the Maha Kumbhabhishekam ceremony at the Sri Kamakshi Devi Sametha Sri Bheemalingeswara Swamy Temple in Vangallu, Nellore district, last Sunday. Alongside MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, Anam participated in the consecration rituals of the temple.

During the event, the Endowments Minister detailed the government’s vision to transform these temples into spaces that inspire deep devotion and offer a tranquil setting for devotees. The renovations will incorporate elements of Santana Hindu Dharma, Vedic culture, and Agama Shastras to uphold the traditional and spiritual essence of the temples. Minister Anam also announced improvements in the prasadam offerings at temples under the state’s Endowments Department.

Following the directives of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the financial aid provided through the Dhupa Deepa Naivedyam scheme to 5,400 temples statewide will be increased from 25,000 to 10,000 per month, effective immediately. Moreover, the monthly honorarium for priests in temples with an annual income exceeding 250,000 will be raised from 10,000 to 15,000. Minister Rama Narayana Reddy further revealed that the Chief Minister has instructed an increase in financial support for the construction of new temples under the TTD’s SRI VANI Trust. The aid, previously capped at 10 lakh, will now range between 20 lakh to 25 lakh, showcasing the government’s dedication to enhancing temple infrastructure throughout the state.

In another development, Minister Anam and MP Vemireddy participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for a new Primary Health Centre in Krishna Puram village, Marripadu Mandal. The project, valued at 2.65 crore, is anticipated to benefit approximately 25,000 residents in the area. Minister Anam outlined plans to transform Marripadu into a model region in the coming decade, announcing infrastructure projects such as two national highways, a new railway project, and irrigation initiatives to uplift the area.

Subsequently, the Minister and the MP jointly inaugurated two mineral water plants named VPR Amruta Dhara in Brahmanapalli village of Marripadu Mandal. Established under the VPR Foundation, these plants aim to alleviate drinking water shortages in the region. Minister Reddy praised MP Vemireddy’s dedication to public service, underscoring the service-oriented nature of these projects, which are independently funded without reliance on government resources. MP Vemireddy highlighted that the mineral water plants are established with a service-oriented objective, specifically targeting areas facing acute drinking water challenges. He noted that this initiative is not their first, mentioning their earlier efforts in setting up RO plants in Udayagiri as early as 2017. He emphasized that these water plants are funded using their own resources, without depending on government support.
